Savage said: JOHN, Warwick, eldest son of the first John of Providence, born in England came 1635 with his father. Freeman 1655, married Ann, daughter of William Almy, had Peter, William, Job, Samuel, Richard, and four daughters of whom Ann married her cousin Thomas Green; one married probably Joseph Torry of Newport; Catharine married Charles Holden; and perhaps Susanna married John Spencer; was a proprietor of Westerly 1661, one of the councilors to Sir Edmund Andros 1687, was major, deputy-governor 1690-1700, and died 1708.
From Dutton.ged: Will 28 Dec 1658 he inherited Farm from Father. Proved 7 Jan 1659 Family home purchased from Indian Chief Miontonomi 1 Oct. 1642. Sold to John Brown on 6 Oct. 1782, Called " Greene's Hold".
